What ALC is
ALC is a live-class tool for grades 6–12 teachers. Teachers run classes with whiteboards, attendance, participation points, and catch-up work. Students join with a class code.
Who can use it
- Teachers and school staff sign in with Google. Access is by invitation only. You can ask for access on our Request Access page.
- Students join only with a code from their teacher and use their first name from the class list.
- You must be allowed by your school or board to use ALC with your students.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your Google account secure, and do not share your sign-in or email codes.
- Share class codes only with your students.
- Use only students' first names on class lists.
- Upload only content you have the right to use.
- Do not misuse ALC: no attempts to break in, overload it, copy it, or reach other people's data.
Your content and student data
- You and your school keep ownership of your lessons, content, and student records.
- You give us permission to store and process them only to run ALC for you.
- Student data is handled as described in our Privacy Notice. Schools and boards control student records. We act on their behalf.
ALC Pro
- See our pricing page for current Pro prices. Prices include applicable taxes.
- Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Pro renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Monthly plans: we do not refund partial months.
- Annual plans: if you cancel within 30 days of payment, we refund it in full. After 30 days there is no refund.
- If we change Pro prices, we will tell you before your next renewal.
Availability
We work to keep ALC running, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may update or change features over time.
Ending use
You can stop using ALC at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. When service ends, we delete data as described in the Privacy Notice.
Limits on our responsibility
ALC is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses. Our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Ontario.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. For significant changes, we will tell you in advance.
